Our website address is: https://creativelyadventurous.com. It is run by Katie in the United Kingdom. Contact: firstname.lastname@example.org
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
This section details what personal data this site collects from users and site visitors. This may include personal data, such as name, email address, personal account preferences; and technical data, such as information about cookies.
Personal data is not just created by your interactions with this site. Personal data is also generated from technical processes such as contact forms, comments, cookies, analytics, and third party embeds.
By default WordPress does not collect any personal data about visitors, and only collects the data shown on the User Profile screen from registered users.
Do not post anything on the internet that you would not want to be on the internet forever.
When visitors leave comments on this site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
If you decide to comment via your facebook account then information about your profile will also be collected and by commenting through facebook you are providing your consent for this.
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
When you submit information via the contact form on my website I collect your name, email address and your message. This information is forwarded to my email and I may keep it for up to 6 months for customer service purposes and history documentation. If you would like your information to be deleted then you can say so when submitting the contact form or request this by emailing me (email@example.com). I do not use the information submitted through the form for marketing purposes at all.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. You can turn this off in cookie preferences.
I have installed the Google Analystics Dashboard for WP by ExactMetrics plugin that provides anonymised analytics services. More information about how this plugin works in regards to the GDPR and privacy rules can be found here.
You can opt out of Google Analytics across all websites by adding this browser extension.
Who we share your data with
I use several third party embeds and plugins to make this website an attractive, responsive and practical user experience.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
If you sign up to my Mailchimp mailing list then your email is retained until you unsubscribe.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
European data protection law requires data about European residents which is transferred outside the European Union to be safeguarded to the same standards as if the data was in Europe. Measures are in place to protect information that you provide to this site. Any data that you provide in the form of a private email or contact form is kept confidential and never shared, sold or rented.
As this site uses third party apps, some data will be sent outside the European Union. The companies that this involves have their privacy policies listed above.
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
